About

If it was not completely obvious, my name is Remington Fioraso.  I am in the fourth year of my Bachelor of Arts degree focusing on Sociology, Anthropology, and Media and Communications at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, British Columbia. I have a tendency to focus on new media promotion and geek out over analytics.

Questions You Might Want Answered

Question: Can you write *insert piece here* for me?

Answer: If it’s a love letter to the Boston Bruins or Maple Leafs, I can’t unless it’s satirical.  Otherwise, I would love to get in touch with you.

Question: Can you help me with promoting my band/product/company/overall awesomeness?

Answer:  Yes.  I like putting my program to use outside of school! I take particular interest in social media marketing and content creation.  Contact me with details of what you are looking for and we’ll talk.

Question: Why should I consider you?

Answer: When individuals say the cliche of doing what you love, I took them seriously. I have extensively utilized social networking websites as a means of promotion since the days of Myspace.  It is interesting to find out ‘what works’ and ‘what doesn’t’ and the overall statistics/analytical information corresponding to posts.

My specific academic experience directly correlating to promotion is focusing my course selection and projects in Sociology and Media and Communications (where applicable) on the topic.  Two of my favourite assignments include a paper presented on new media marketing with an emphasis on Facebook.  Additionally, I completed a qualitative research project answering the question, “What role do musicians believe social media has played in regards to their audience?”  This involved completing a literature review, interviewing, transcription, coding interviews and social media posts using NVivo,  and analyzing the data.  Although this is directed to music, it can be applied to other industries.

Question: Where can I contact you?

Answer: Here.
